Ten days with seven on the mountain: the resort openers, three days of guided freeride, two days of ski touring — and then a different kind of day entirely: winter Ushguli, 45 km of mountain road to the UNESCO towers under snow, the Lamaria church and Svan food. A snowshoe day and a guided farewell morning in Mestia round it out.

This is the deepest ordinary winter trip we run — the longer packages simply add snow days to it. The price includes the Svan guide daily, lift passes on lift days, the group transfer from Kutaisi airport and back, our vehicles inside the region, and half board in Mestia. Groups are six people with one guide and one car; that arithmetic is the per-person price.

Classic or Signature

Classic
€2,238
Family guesthouse, simple room, full board.
Signature
€3,534
Signature threads machinery through the same ten days: a cat-skiing day on Tetnuldi Alpine, a one-drop heliskiing day in place of the second touring day, and a snowmobile day into the upper valleys where Classic goes on snowshoes — all with premium guesthouses. Winter Ushguli and the farewell morning stay untouched in both versions.

For skiers with time to go past the week: more mountain days, and the stone villages in snow.

Questions we hear before this trip

When can this trip run?

Winter runs from 20 December to the end of April, and dates inside that window are flexible.

What is the group size?

Six people, one guide, one car — that is what the per-person price is built on. Larger groups are split by activity, each sub-group priced by its own rule.

Can I join alone?

Yes — a single traveller can join a departure that is already forming.

What is the winter Ushguli day?

Forty-five kilometres of winter mountain road to the UNESCO towers under snow, the Lamaria church and Svan food — the one day of the trip that is about stone rather than snow, placed late in the programme when your legs will thank you for it.

What is included, and what is not?

Included: the Svan guide each day, lift passes on the days you ride lifts, the group transfer from Kutaisi airport and back, all travel inside the region in our own vehicles, and a room in Mestia with breakfast and dinner. Not included: flights, insurance, lunch on the mountain, a room to yourself — and the helicopter and snowcat unless the programme names them.
