1. Who we are
Svaneti Tours ("we", "us") is a local tour operator based in Mestia, Svaneti, Georgia, offering guided winter and summer mountain activities including freeride skiing, ski touring, cat-skiing, heli-assisted skiing, ski lessons, hiking, trekking, horse riding, paragliding arrangements, transfers, equipment rental and accommodation. 2. Bookings
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed the date, programme and price with you in writing (email or WhatsApp) and any requested deposit has been received. Prices are quoted in euro (EUR) unless stated otherwise; equivalent payment in Georgian lari (GEL) may be accepted at the prevailing rate.
3. Payment
Unless agreed otherwise, the balance is payable before the start of the tour. Some services booked with third parties (for example helicopter time, hotels or long transfers) may require a non-refundable advance, which we will tell you about before you commit.
4. Changes and cancellations by you
- More than 14 days before the start date: full refund of amounts paid, less any non-refundable third-party costs.
- 14 days or less before the start date: we will offer to reschedule; refunds are at our discretion, less costs already incurred.
- No-show or cancellation after the start: no refund.
5. Changes and cancellations by us
Mountain weather, snow stability and safety come first. Our guides may change the route, area or timing of any activity, or cancel it, when conditions require. If we cancel an activity and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, we will refund the unused part of the price. We are not liable for costs not booked through us (such as flights).
6. Your responsibilities
- Give us honest information about your experience, fitness and health when booking.
- Follow the guide’s instructions at all times during the activity.
- Arrive with suitable clothing and any personal equipment agreed in advance; rental equipment remains our property and damage beyond normal wear may be charged.
- Participants under 18 must be accompanied by, or have written consent from, a parent or guardian.
7. Insurance
Off-piste and backcountry activities carry inherent risk. You must hold travel insurance covering the booked activity, including mountain rescue and, for freeride, touring, cat-ski and heli programmes, off-piste coverage. We may ask for proof of insurance before the tour.
8. Assumption of risk and liability
Mountain sports cannot be made free of risk even with professional guiding. By joining a tour you accept the inherent risks of the activity. Our liability for damages is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence on our part, and, where permitted by law, to the price paid for the affected service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Third-party services
Where we arrange services delivered by third parties (helicopter operators, hotels, drivers, paragliding pilots), those providers are responsible for their own services and their terms may also apply.
10. Photos and media
We sometimes take photos and video during tours for our website and social media. Tell your guide or write to us if you prefer not to appear.
11. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural events, road closures, strikes or acts of authorities.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. Disputes will first be addressed in good faith between the parties; otherwise the courts of Georgia have jurisdiction.
