The Laila massif (up to 4,009 m) walls Mestia to the south — a serious, quiet ski-touring arena. A multi-day traverse of its cols and summits for fit, experienced groups. Priced per itinerary.
Laila sees a fraction of the traffic of the Mestia–Ushguli line. Routes link cols, glaciers and summit options over two to four days, with camps or mountain shelters depending on the plan and the snow.
This is advanced terrain: you need solid ski-mountaineering skills, uphill fitness and glacier awareness. The guide builds the route around the snowpack and weather window, and the group carries full avalanche and glacier kit.

The Laila (Lyaila) range south of Mestia rises to over 4,000 m and offers one of Svaneti's great multi-day ski touring traverses. This is remote, committing backcountry — long skinning days, high passes, big descents and nights in the mountains — for experienced, fit ski tourers who want a genuine Caucasus expedition.
Our certified guides plan the line around snow stability and weather, carrying avalanche safety equipment and managing terrain conservatively. The reward is untouched powder and summit-to-valley descents in a range almost no one skis.
You need strong uphill endurance, confident off-piste skiing in all snow types, and comfort with multi-day mountain travel. If that sounds like a stretch, start with day tours or Adishi and build toward it.
It is a multi-day tour; the exact length depends on the chosen line, snow conditions and group fitness. We plan the itinerary with you in advance.
Advanced. You should be a fit ski tourer experienced with skinning, off-piste descents and multi-day backcountry travel.
