A transfer from Mestia to Mazeri village starts the day. The trail climbs through forest and crosses streams up the valley, with Ushba (4,710 m) filling the skyline, to the base of the Shdugra falls.
The walking is moderate with some rocky sections near the falls. A shorter option turns back at the Hikers’ Inn viewpoint. Good shoes and a normal level of fitness are enough; the guide sets the pace.

The Shdugra Waterfall hike leads through the beautiful Becho valley to one of the tallest waterfalls in Georgia, tumbling from the glaciers beneath Mount Ushba. It is a scenic, moderate day walk with the twin peaks of Ushba — the 'Matterhorn of the Caucasus' — dominating the skyline throughout.
