Sure-footed local horses carry you up the track above Mestia to the Koruldi ridge at around 2,700 m. The guide leads the whole route and matches horse and pace to each rider, so no experience is needed.
The reward is the same 360° view hikers climb hours for — Ushba, Tetnuldi and the range — with the effort on the horse, not your legs. A half-day lower-valley ride is available for a shorter option.

Horse riding to the Koruldi ridge
Reach one of Svaneti's greatest viewpoints from the saddle. This guided ride climbs from Mestia toward the Koruldi ridge on sure-footed Svan mountain horses, trading much of the steep hiking effort for the rhythm of the trail. At the top, Mount Ushba's twin summits and the Caucasus panorama open in front of you.
It is a wonderful option if you love the mountains but want a different way up than the Koruldi Lakes hike. Guides lead throughout and choose a pace to suit the group.
